Reopen American Businesses, Safely and with a Purpose!

Restaurants and brick-and-mortar retail stores have been the industries hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Millions of American restaurant and retail workers have lost their jobs. The industries are staggering to regain their footing and figure out how to reorganize around a new normal. Luckily, these industries have associations that are working hard to provide guidance for the best practices to reopen American businesses.

We Value our Community

Last week I talked about our company’s Core Values, one of which is Community. Human beings are social beings, so the practice of social distancing is not in our nature. Restaurants have been and will continue to remain a cornerstone of who we are as a Community. As our community businesses begin the process of preparing to reopen, I encourage our community to rally support.  HOWEVER, we must do it in a manner that also protects our Community.

Reopen American Businesses with a Purpose

We are all just beginning to learn about operating a business in a pandemic. And now, more than ever, it is critical to have a plan. We need to reopen American businesses. But we need to do it in a way that is safe.  It must be safe for American workers, as well as customers. The key is to practice physical distancing and social engaging.

It is important that we do it with the most current direction and guidance. The National Restaurant Association and the National Retail Federation have each assembled a wealth of information, resources and guidance for how each of their respective industries can proceed in a safe manner. The National Retail Federation has launched Operation Open Doors and the National Restaurant Association has published their COVID-19 Reopening Guidance. I encourage all restaurants and retail businesses to take advantage of these resources. We stand ready to support our community businesses in executing a reopening plan with a purpose.

Signage is Critical to Reopening

Signs are extremely effective in reminding employees of the necessary steps and precautions to take when performing their daily routine.  This is even more critical when that routine changes, or certain steps become more critical. Signs are also crucial to engage customers with critical information that conveys expectations and makes their customer experience as pleasant and safe as possible.

If you are the owner or manager of a business preparing to reopen, we are committed to serving you. We can provide all of your signage needs from health and safety signs, signs that indicate required distancing standards, or signs that control customer flow. These may be in the form of floor graphics, wall graphics, or window graphics, sidewalk A-frame signs, banners and banner stands, or point-of-purchase signs.

We serve the communities of Northern Virginia and the DC metro area to ensure our collective economic viability and provide for the well-being of our Communities.
